Message from Priscilla Lord Faris

Dear Friends,

Thank you to all of you who worked on, donated to, and voted for our campaign. We ran an incredible race. We had a small group of dedicated, disciplined volunteers and professionals who propelled us to 30% of the vote. We spent 3% of what our opponent spent and campaigned for 6 weeks vs two years and had 9 days of media advertising. I call that a win. We succeeded in attaining our purpose which was to challenge the incumbent and to provide the voters with another option. I was honored to have so many supporters that thought I would be the right U.S. Senator for Minnesota. Each day new doors opened and wonderful people joined us in our goal.

Many people commented that they wished that I had started sooner, but as you know my brother, Mick, my sister, Virginia, and I were caring for our brother Jim after he received a kidney and pancreas transplant on April 1st 2008 until his death from a heart attack on June 6th. Family came first and we waited for another candidate to jump into the race before the final filing date, July 15th. I think it is unreasonable to spend ten to twenty million dollars and two years campaigning for this Senate seat. We have so many needy causes that could use that money. I think all candidates should start on July 15th.

I will be back in my law office on Tuesday, September 16th continuing the career that I love, practicing in the areas of personal injury, discrimination, medical device and prescriptions drug failures. You can contact me at 651-641-1500.
